DAKOTA BARNETT-OLDFIELD
BRAY PARK SHS
At Bray Park State High School, Dakota Oldfield stands out as a remarkable Year 9 student who embodies passion and determination. Known for her deep appreciation of her cultural heritage, Dakota takes great pride in representing her roots, often sharing her traditions and values with her peers as well as participating in traditional dances. Her commitment to her identity is evident in her active participation in school events that celebrate diversity and inclusion.
This term, Dakota has demonstrated her dedication to her education with an impressive 90% attendance record. This achievement is particularly noteworthy, as it reflects her resilience and motivation to succeed, especially after returning to school following the break. A significant part of her success can be attributed to the support she receives from the ARTIE Mentor program, which has provided her with the guidance and encouragement needed to navigate her academic journey. In addition to her strong attendance, Dakota has excelled in her academic performance as well. She recently achieved a B in her mathematics class, a testament to her hard work and determination to excel in her studies.
Her enthusiasm for learning and her willingness to seek help when needed have contributed to her success, and teachers often commend her for her positive attitude and willingness to engage in class discussions. Dakota is not just focused on her academic goals; she is also a role model for her classmates.
The ARTIE Mentor helped Dakota throughout the term by doing check ins and sitting in Class with Dakota to make class a better place for her to be. Her Hard work has been noticed by teachers and administration staff, and they could not be prouder of the growth Dakota has had.
The ARTIE Academy cannot wait to see the continued growth and success of Dakota.
