The ARTIE Academy Tutoring Program provides additional learning support to help students strengthen literacy and numeracy skills while building confidence, independence and positive learning habits.
About the program
The ARTIE Academy Tutoring Program is a volunteer-based initiative supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students across participating schools throughout Queensland.

Working alongside teachers and school staff, ARTIE tutors assist students both in the classroom and through one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions, creating a supportive environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed.
How it works

Apply
Students are matched with an ARTIE tutor who provides encouragement and personalised learning support.

Learn
Tutors work alongside students to strengthen literacy, numeracy and classroom participation through regular support.

Students build confidence, develop new skills and become more engaged in their education.
In partnership with Australian Catholic University
The ARTIE Academy is proud to partner with Australian Catholic University (ACU) to support the delivery of the Tutoring Program.

Through this partnership, ACU students have the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience while making a meaningful difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Working alongside ARTIE mentors, teachers and school staff, volunteer tutors help build confidence, strengthen literacy and numeracy skills, and encourage positive educational outcomes.

Volunteers play an important role in helping students build confidence and achieve their educational goals. ARTIE Tutors work alongside teachers, Education Coordinators and community partners to provide consistent, positive support that helps students succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
